Marines of Sangin Memorial WOD

Sangin is considered the bloodiest battleground of Afghanistan by both United States and United Kingdom alike. With both nations suffering the loss of over 100 killed in action, and several hundred casualties. The Marines, with casualties at some of the highest rates in the war, fought to clear the area of insurgents and control the volatile region, which was a Taliban stronghold and a center for the opium trade. More than 50 Marines paid the ultimate sacrifice, fighting for Sangin and hundreds were seriously wounded.
