Initial Counseling/Pre-Separation Counseling (ICPC)
The Initial Counseling and Pre-Separation Counseling are two separate counseling sessions that will get you started with the transition process and must be completed NLT 12 months from EAS. Retirees are recommended to get started up to two years prior to retirement and separatees should attend within 12 to 18 months from separation.
The Initial Counseling appointment takes place with one of the Transition Readiness Program staff members. This time is intended to assist in establishing your transition goals and reviewing your individual transition considerations.
After completing the Initial Counseling, you will be locked into the Pre-Separation Counseling. The Pre-Separation Counseling is a classroom setting designed to provide an overview of the Transition Readiness Seminar as well as benefits and resources in place for transition.
Upon completion of ICPC, your TRS week will be confirmed.
Contact your Unit Transition Coordinator to get started with the pre-work items and set up for your counseling sessions.
